Biographical/Historical:
Summary:     This series consists of bridge plans for bridges which are no longer in existence in Florida or are no longer maintained by the state.  Due to the geographic nature of Florida, most of the plans were for bridges crossing major rivers, such as the St. Johns River and the Appalachicola River, and for the bridges which connected the Florida Keys.
The primary significance of this collection will be for engineers and architects studying the history of bridge design in Florida (e.g. arch deck bridges) and historians studying the development of the state's transportation corridors.  Of special interest will be the bridges connecting the Florida Keys.
