Summary:     This series contains correspondence, memoranda, forms, and reports that deal with litigation by the state against the Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, a company that produced a soil fumigant that was widely used in Florida to control agricultural pests.  This suit was trying to prove that the fumigant (ethylene dibromide) did not act in the manner that the company said it would after being properly applied.  The Attorney General of Florida, the General Counsel of the Dept. of Environmental Regulation, and a contract law firm were engaged in the suit to show that the chemical company was liable for the expense of the attempts to clean the soil and ground water of the contaminated areas of the state.
