Summary:     This series contains miscellaneous records related to homestead and swampland claims in Florida maintained by the State Land Office from 1885 to 1908.  The records document the status of the sale of public lands, homestead claims, swampland designations, and land claims by canal and railroad companies.
    The series contains records sent or received by the Commissioner of Lands and Immigration, the Commissioner of Agriculture, the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund, and the Commissioner of the United States Land Office at Gainesville.  It includes documents of various legal actions taken by the State of Florida regarding public lands (including swamplands) being claimed by settlers or companies.
