Summary:     This series contains the note payment journals maintained by the Register of Public Lands from 1847 to 1857.  Volume 1 is a daybook with daily entries of cash and bills receivable for the seminary, school, and internal improvement funds.  It lists the date of the entry, the fund, and the total amount, but does not itemize the accounts within the fund.  Volume 2 is a journal of payments made on seminary fund notes only; the journal contains an index.  It lists the type of the note, the county of residence, the date the note became due, a record of installment payments, and remarks as to when the payments were made in full and as to when the title deed was issued.  Volume 3 is a journal of note payments made on all three funds.
