	Biographical/Historical:	In 1869 Francis Vose brought suit against the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund. This suit was brought to force the Trustees to recognize Vose as the owner of mature bonds funded by the sale of state lands controlled by the Fund. These bonds had secured debt that was incurred prior to the Civil War by various entities constructing internal improvements, e.g. railroads. These entities had defaulted due to the dislocations created by the war.
	Summary:	This series is the record of the Vose case as it unfolded in the Northern District of Florida, Fifth Circuit Court of the United States. The twelve years of court orders and decrees contained in this volume were copied into, or pasted into, this volume by the Clerk of that court. These decrees and orders provide: the actions that were to be taken; the identity of the Federal Supreme Court Justice who headed the circuit; the U.S. Fifth Circuit, Northern District of Florida Judges; and the attorneys as well as the Special Masters who were involved in the proceedings. Each order is concerned with a specific aspect of the suit and provides a view of the progress of the suit and settlement. The series does not contain any type of record that might provide insight as to the arguments made or any citations for the basis of any decisions taken other than orders issued earlier in this case.
