	Summary:	This series consists of records documenting the development of reports on Key Largo land use plans and recommendations by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The study was intended to be the basis for future planning for the North Key Largo Hammocks State Botanical Site and the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The reports resulting from the study included recommendations developed with input from a study review committee comprised of state and local government officials, members of environmental organizations, and members of citizens committees. The series includes correspondence between DNR staff and review committee members; interoffice memoranda; agenda and minutes of committee and cabinet meetings at which issues under study were discussed; and study reports from 1989, 1990, and 1991; and previous studies, reports, and management plans dating from 1978 to the mid-1980s. The records concern the goals of the study; staff recommendations; conditions in and outside of managed areas, including wildlife and vegetation; land acquisitions; and potential state uses of lands under study.
