The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The series contains the high school accreditation files maintained by the Dept. of Public Instruction from 1916 to 1924. The records include the minutes of the Board of Accreditation meetings.  The Board consisted of State Superintendent of Public Instruction William N. Sheats and State High School Inspector William S. Cawthon.  Also included is correspondence to and from Sheats and Cawthon concerning accreditation.  Additionally, the records contain yearly reports from the high schools that were used to decide accreditation.  These reports are indexed in the minutes folder.  The records also contain lists of principals and teachers and correspondence concerning the course of study for the high schools.
