The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical: ****DEACCESSIONED****Florida State University is located in Tallahassee, Florida. The institution was chartered in 1851 and has been state-assisted since 1857.  It operated under several different names until 1909, when it became Florida State College for Women.  In 1947, the name was changed to Florida State University and the institution was made coeducational.  It is part of the State University System which is part of the Division of Universities in the Dept. of Education.  The university president is appointed by the Board of Regents.  The Office of Executive Vice President was created at Florida State University in 1969.  Bernard F. Sliger served in this position from 1972 to 1976.
Summary: ****DEACCESSIONED****This series contains the doctoral program reviews from 1974 to 1975 maintained by Florida State University Executive Vice President Bernard F. Sliger.  The reviews were compiled by the Florida State University Graduate Policy Council for selected doctoral programs and sent to the Executive Vice President.  The doctoral programs included in the records are audiology and speech pathology; biological science; post secondary education; history; molecular biophysics; music; and philosophy.
