The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Industrial Relations Commission was created as part of the Department of Commerce in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws of Florida).  It assumed the duties of the Florida Industrial Commission relating to the review of orders in workmen's compensation and unemployment compensation proceedings.  The state Supreme Court had jurisdiction in worker's compensation cases, and the appropriate District Court of Appeals ruled in unemployment compensation cases.  The Industrial Relations Commission became part of the Department of Labor and Employment Security in 1978 (Ch. 78-201, Laws).  It was abolished in 1979 (Ch. 79-312, Laws), and all pending appeals were transferred to the District Court of Appeals.
