The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation was created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws) to oversee the various professional and occupational examining and licensing boards in Florida.  It was authorized to issue licenses, collect fees, administer written examinations, and perform investigative and legal services for the boards.  In 1979, the department was reorganized into the Department of Professional Regulation (Ch. 79-36, Laws).
