The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of General Regulation was created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws) as part of the Department of Business Regulation to assume some of the duties of the State Board of Conservation, the Department of State, and the Florida Industrial Commission.  The division's duties included the licensing and regulation of yacht and ship brokers, certified shorthand court reporters, electronic repair dealers, and collection agencies.  It was also responsible for enforcement of the elevator inspection law.
