The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Florida Department of Revenue was created in 1969 (Laws of Florida, 69-106). Several state agencies or agency functions were transferred into the new department, among them the Comptroller's duties and functions relating to the collection of state taxes, the State Treasure's duties and functions relating to the collection of state revenues, and the State Revenue Commission. The department is responsible for collecting different types of taxes, such as sales and use tax, corporate income tax, documentary stamp tax, etc.  The Florida Department of Revenue operates several program areas, including General Tax Administration, Property Tax, and Child Support Enforcement.
