The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of Inspection was created in 1925 as the Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Inspection (Ch. 10149, Laws).  The agency became a division in 1959 (Ch. 59-54, Laws).  After 1969, the division continued as part of the Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the successor agency to the Dept. of Agriculture.  The division maintains inspection stations for agricultural, livestock, and horticultural commodities and products transported on Florida highways; draws and inspects samples; checks weights, standards, and measures of articles offered for sale in Florida; checks wholesale and retail markets; and ascertains that labels and ingredients of products are in agreement.
