The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The State Planning and Budget Commission was created in 1967 (Ch. 67-371, Laws), replacing the State Budget Commission, begun in 1921 (Ch. 8426, Laws).  The State Planning and Budget Commission was composed of the Governor and Cabinet.  The Commission received an itemized request for funds from all state agencies and prepared a budget for submission to the Legislature containing a complete and itemized statement of all proposed expenditures.  The Commission became the Division of Planning and Budgeting, Department of Administration, in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).
