The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     John Wayne Mixson, the thirty-ninth Governor of Florida, served from January 3 to January 6, 1987.  Under the terms of Article IV, Section 3(a) of the Florida Constitution, Mixson became governor upon Robert Graham's resignation to take the oath of office as U.S. Senator.  Mixson served in the Florida House of Representatives (1967-1978) before becoming Graham's Lieutenant Governor. In 1982, when Graham won re-election, Mixson became the first Lieutenant Governor to serve consecutive terms. From 1983 Mixson also served as Florida's Secretary of Commerce.
