The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The State Auditor was first appointed in 1903 (Ch. 5119, Laws of Florida) to audit the financial records of all state, county, and municipal public offices and programs as required by law.  The State Auditing Department was created in 1927 (1927, Ch. 12279, Laws), assuming the functions of the Office of the State Auditor.  The Office of the Auditor General and post of Auditor General was created in 1969 (Ch. 69-82, Laws).
