The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of Community Services, which is part of the Department of Community Affairs, was created in 1974 (Ch. 74-307, Laws of Florida) by merging its Division of Migrant Labor and Division of Economic Opportunity.  The Division assisted local government in the establishment, development, and administration of community services programs.  It also administered the Federal Economic Opportunity Act and other federal aid programs for migrant labor.  The Executive Office of the Governor assumed control of its Migrant Labor Program in 1979 (Ch. 79-190, Laws).  The Division of Community Services was reorganized as an Office in 1979 and was abolished in 1984 (Ch. 84-241, Laws).
