The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Bureau of Comprehensive Health Planning was created in 1966 by Congress (P.L. 89-749) as the Florida Health Planning Council.  The Bureau was established as part of the Division of Planning and Evaluation in 1971 (Ch. 71-212, Laws). The Bureau was responsible for the approval and coordination of area wide comprehensive health planning councils and programs; the total determination of health status in Florida and the identification of problems; the quantification of objectives and the selection of health priorities for planning; and the development of statewide comprehensive health planning, involving public and voluntary sectors of the Florida health system.
