The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of State Lands was created under the Department of Natural Resources in 1979 (Ch. 79-255, Laws of Florida).  It took over the duties and responsibilities of the Bureau of Coastal and Land Boundaries and the Bureau of State Lands, both of the Division of Resource Management in the Department of Natural Resources.  Under the Florida Environmental Reorganization Act of 1993, the Division of State Lands was transferred intact to the Department of Environmental Protection (Ch. 93-213, Laws).  The Division of State Lands performs all staff duties and functions related to acquisitions, administration, and disposition of state lands, title to which are or will be vested in the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Funds.
