The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of Marine Resources, under the Department of Natural Resources, was created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws of Florida) to preserve, manage, regulate, and protect the coastal and marine resources of Florida.  The division also provided research information in order to aid in the formulation of coastal and marine resource management policies.  These duties were later assumed by the Office of Coastal & Aquatic Managed Areas in the Department of Environmental Protection.
