The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The United States Constitution Bicentennial Commission of Florida was created by Governor Bob Graham in 1986 (Executive Order 86-153) and reaffirmed by Governor Bob Martinez in 1987 (Executive Order 87-18).  It was established for the Bicentennial period of 1986 to 1991  to prepare an overall program for commemorating the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution in 1987.  Its duties were to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate observances and activities commemorating the historic events associated with the United States Constitution.  The commission established a non-profit corporation which handled all of the Commission's funds and administered all of its activities.  Florida Supreme Court Justice Ben F. Overton served as the chairman of this corporation, and Carol Bellamy was the Executive Director.
