The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Title: Media 1979-23: "1956 Florida Folk Festival," 1956 (1955?); 18:30; B&W; silent: Begins with a history of Florida acted out by individuals dressed in period costumes, beginning with a conquistador and ending with a distinguished elderly gentleman. Florida Folk Festival scenes include dancers, choirs, storytellers and musicians. A troupe of children mount the stage dressed as conquistadors, pirates, and Indians. Three men march on stage with the Confederate flag, followed by female and male Navy enlistees. A gang of tap dancers demonstrates their fancy footwork; some are dressed as flappers. Two acoustic guitarists and a man playing stand-up lap steel guitar accompany a hula dancer, who shakes a coconut rattle. A band of faux Indians dance in front of The Foster Museum before joining real Seminoles in a dance on stage. Produced by the Stephen Foster Memorial Commission.
