Biographical/Historical:     Jonas Kamlet was born in 1914 and came of age in New York City. He met his future wife, colleague, and business partner Edna Yadven Kamlet Rogers when they were both nine years old at their parents' summer cottages. Growing up together they followed similar academic interests in college, where Jonas majored in chemistry and minored in biology at City College of New York (CCNY) and Edna majored in biology and minored in chemistry at City University of New York (CUNY). After marrying each other, they founded Kamlet Laboratories in New York City where the two worked together to create a hundreds of patented inventions, from glucose and pregnancy tests to a cattle feed synthesized from used newspapers.



    Jonas was a casualty in the 1960 New York mid-air collision that left well over a hundred dead. Afterwards, Edna moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she promoted her husband's legacy while continuing to work until she retired in 1979.
Summary:     This collection consists entirely of photographic negatives and mainly depicts Jonas and Edna's personal lives. Most appear to be family photos at their home or with close friends.
