The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Christiane Robinson is a freelance translator and self-taught photographer with special interest in documentary photography and photojournalism. Born in Germany, Robinson immigrated to the United States in 1998 and lived in Alabama until August 2020 when she moved to Panama City Beach, Florida. She actively supports a variety of social justice causes and has documented a wide range of events in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Washington, D.C.
The LGBTQ Center of Bay County is a nonprofit organization that opened in March 2019 in Panama City, Florida. Its mission is to enhance and sustain the well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning population of Bay County through advocacy, education, and collaboration with the community. The Center sponsors events such as Pride Night of Drag and Gay the Hathaway March, and participates in larger local events such as Mardi Gras and Christmas parades. In 2019, the Center held its first Bay Pride festival in Panama City.
Summary:
This collection contains photographs and videos taken by Christiane Robinson at LGBTQ Center of Bay County events. The events documented include the Center's grand opening, the inaugural Bay Pride, Hallowqueen, Mardi Gras and Christmas parades, Gay the Hathaway marches, Treasure Sale Fundraiser, and Pride Night of Drag at the Salty Hobo. These images and videos depict event speakers, performers, attendees, and sponsor booths. Also included in the collection is a short bio of photographer Christiane Robinson that she wrote.
