	Biographical/Historical:	The Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association was formed in 1894 by medium George Colby of New York and a number of his colleagues. Colby's decision to form the community came from revelation he received during a seance, followed by his journey through the Central Florida region with his spirit guide, Seneca. 35 acres of land were deeded for the community in 1895. The Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp was added to the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Historic District in 1991. Today, the Camp has grown to 57 acres and is home to a number of mediums and Spiritualist healers. According to the Camp Association, Spiritualism is "the science, philosophy and religion based upon the principle of continuous life demonstrated through mediumship." The Camp claims to be the largest Spiritualist community in the Southeast United States and has been continuously occupied by religious members since its inception.
	Summary:	This series includes notes taken during oral history interviews of Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp residents. These interviews were conducted by Kristin Congdon for Daytona State College - then Daytona Beach Community College - between 1994 and 1997. Additionally, there are approximately 175 photographic slides of people and religious spaces and object from the Camp.
