Summary:     This series consists of records from the County Tax Proper Fund of Jefferson County. The series documents treasurer's reports, fines and forfeitures, the road and bridge fund, and the band fund. Each record lists the individual and fine or tax associated with them, as well as the date of each transaction.

    The series contains treasurer's reports to the State Auditor for 1892, 1897, and 1916. The reports of fines and forfeitures were compiled by the Justices of the Peace for the circuit and district courts of Jefferson County for 1855 to 1872, 1897 to 1902, 1909, and 1928. The 1855 to 1872 reports are duplicates. Additional County Proper Fund documents include a set of tax sale certificates and an unpaid poll tax list for 1897.
