Biographical/Historical:     The First Florida Governmental Financing Commission was created in 1985 pursuant to the Florida Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1969, Section 163.01, Florida Statutes. According to its website, the Commission's purpose and mission was to, "enable a limited number of qualified governmental units to benefit from the economies of scale associated with larger scale financing which may otherwise be unrealized if separate financings were undertaken." Members at the time of its 2019 dissolution were Broward County, City of Hollywood, and City of St. Petersburg. Former Commission members were the City of Boca Raton, the City of Sarasota, Manatee County, and the City of Gainesville.
Summary:     This series contains minutes of the First Florida Governmental Financing Commission which document the topics of discussion, decisions made, and actions taken by the Commission from 1985 to 2018.
