Biographical/Historical:   Dr. Charles H. Snyder Jr. was born in Oswego, New York on April 22, 1911 to Charles H. Snyder and Mary (Meagher) Snyder. He graduated from Cornell University in 1934, University of Buffalo in 1937 and served in World War II in the U. S. Army Air Force Dental Corps. His wife, Catherine Barclay, worked as a nurse at Oswego Hospital while he owned and operated a dental practice in Oswego for 56 years. Catherine died in Oswego on September 12, 1990 and Charles died in Oswego on May 25, 1993.

Summary:   This collection documents Charles and Catherine Snyder's road trips to Florida in the 1960s and 1970s. Included within the collection are record books, receipts, trip logs, maps, local event pamphlets, postcards, and other related materials. Charles documented the details of his trips extensively, from mileage traveled and places stayed to expenses and experiences. Taken together, this collection is an excellent resource in its documentation of Florida tourism in the mid-twentieth century.
