Biographical/Historical:
Summary:     The collection contains applications and supporting genealogical data for individuals who received a Florida Settlers and Builders Pioneer Descendant Certificate issued by the Florida State Genealogical Society. The classification for settlers and builders certificates refers to those individuals living in Florida between March 3, 1845 and December 31, 1900.  Applicants could not receive both a State Pioneer Certificate and a Settlers and Builders Certificate for the same ancestor. They could, however, receive both a County Pioneer Certificate and a Settlers and Builders Certificate for a qualifying ancestor.
