The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Office of Adoption and Child Protection is the Governor's liaison with agencies, governments and the public on adoption, support of adoptive families and prevention of child abuse, abandonment and neglect, and is statutorily responsible for the statewide promotion of these and related matters (Section 39.001, Florida Statutes). The Office is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of a strategic program and funding initiative, and for overseeing statewide public awareness campaigns and cultivating support for these campaigns. The Office also supports the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet, the Florida Child Abuse and Prevention Permanency Advisory Council, and the Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council.
Summary:     This series contains records created and maintained by the various cabinets and councils supported by the Office of Adoption and Child Protection within the Executive Office of the Governor. The records document the concerns, actions and collaborations of these cabinets and councils in carrying out their mission to promote and support adoption and child abuse prevention. The types of records include meeting materials such as minutes and agendas, notes, presentation materials, public comments and other supplemental documents. In some cases, the records include video or typed transcripts of the proceedings.
