Biographical/Historical:     The Board of Massage was created in 1943 (Ch. 22034, Laws) to oversee massage therapists in the practice of their profession. Its duties are to conduct examinations for applicants; to inspect massage schools and establishments; to issue, renew, suspend and revoke certificates of registration; to establish rules and regulations for the practice of massage; and to assist in investigations and disciplinary cases.
Summary:     The series contains the minutes and correspondence of the Board of Massage from 1943 to 1964.  The minutes document the topics of discussion, decisions made, and actions taken by the Board. Included in the minutes are the names of applicants who passed the examinations and who were certified by the Board.  The correspondence includes opinions from the Attorney General regarding various issues handled by the Board.
