The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Legislature created the Division of Elections as part of the Dept. of State in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws of Florida). Prior to 1969, the Office of the Secretary of State maintained election records. The Division administers all elections (primary, special, and general); publishes and maintains the Florida Administrative Code; and serves as the official records custodian of oaths and bonds, county ordinances, municipal charters and annexations, proclamations, extraditions, executive orders, and the official laws of Florida.
Summary:     This series consists of sample ballots for Democratic and Republican primaries, special and general elections, presidential preference primaries, and nonpartisan judicial elections. In some cases, special and general election ballots are filed with supplemental legislative materials relating to the proposed Constitutional Amendments.
