Biographical/Historical:   William Knight Thompson Sr. grew up in Tampa where he attended Hillsborough High in the early 1920s. He attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina in the late 1920s and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia in the 1930s. He was a Chaplin in WWII and a pastor of Palmetto Presbyterian Church.  As an amateur photographer, Thompson took many snapshots of family trips and activities in southwestern Florida. Subjects include Seminole Indians, air boat rides,  Fort Desoto in St. Petersburg, Gasparilla Festival, Tampa, Weeki Wachee  and Palmetto Presbyterian Church camp photos between the years 1956 and 1960.
Summary:   This collection is comprised of assorted photographs from the Tampa Bay area taken by William Knight Thompson.
