The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. 	Biographical/Historical:	The Florida Energy and Climate Commission was created in 2008 within the Executive Office of the Governor (2008-227, HB 7135). The commission was established to centralize state energy and climate change programs and policy development. It was responsible for administering financial incentive programs to encourage the advancement of renewable energy technologies, protect the environment and stimulate the economy. Grants, administered to local governments and other entities, were contingent upon their potential impact on climate change. The commission was abolished in 2011, and its functions were transferred to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (2011-142, SB 2156).
	Summary:	This series documents the application, review and administration process of the grant programs administered by the Florida Energy and Climate Commission. The series consists of grant applications, agreements, correspondence, reports, financial documents and notices of grant terminations. The applications include information on the location, background, objectives, milestones and deliverables of the proposed projects. The correspondence between the grantor and grantee document updates to and questions about the contracts, inquires about deliverables and required paperwork, and the involvement of additional entities in the project. The financial documents include payment request forms, grant reimbursement detail forms, invoices and proposed and amended budgets. The reports consist of grant review worksheets and inspection reports.
