Biographical/Historical:     Samuel Millikin was the junior editor of the Weybosset Herald, dispatched from the Florida Reef. He was listed as a passenger on the bark Weybosset, along with T. L. Mitchell and family, Miss Frazier, Messrs Mitchell and Gorden.

Summary:     This collection includes the July 18, 1848, through July 20, 1848 editions of a handwritten daily tabloid newspaper, the Weybosset Herald. The newspaper appears to be satirical in nature, featuring many yarns. Each edition features the latitude and longitude coordinates of the bark Weybosset as it travelled through the Florida Reef.
