Biographical/Historical:     John W. Martin (1884-1958) was a Florida lawyer and politician. He served as mayor of Jacksonville from 1917 to 1924. He was elected as the 24th Governor of Florida from January 6, 1925, to January 8, 1929.

Summary:     This collection includes letters to and from John W. Martin after his successful gubernatorial campaign and during his term as Governor of Florida. The first two letters, dated June 11, 1924, and June 17, 1924, are between John W. Martin and James F. Tucker. Tucker congratulated Martin for his successful campaign, and Martin thanked Tucker for his support. The last letter, dated April 20, 1927, was sent from John W. Martin to the Honorable Ernest Amos. The letter certified that W. T. Cash was chosen by the State Library Board as secretary on March 26, 1927.
