Biographical/Historical:     The Overton family, including Samuel Ragland Overton (d. 1827) and his wife Margaret Ann Overton (1809-1886), were early settlers of Pensacola, Florida. The family moved to Florida from Fayette County, Kentucky.
Summary:     This collection consists of Photostat copies of letters from the Overton family of Pensacola in the 1820s to various family members in Fayette County, Kentucky. The majority of the letters were sent from Samuel Ragland Overton to his father Waller Overton and his siblings. The letters detail life for the family members living in Pensacola, as well as family affairs.
