Biographical/Historical:     Homer G. Plantz (1838-1872) was born in Ohio and attended Urbana University. He married Elizabeth Canby (1836-1867) in 1859. They had a daughter, Sybil Peck Plantz (1861-1929). The family moved to Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida. He served as a district attorney of the federal court at Key West in the 1860s. He also served as a judge in the First Judicial District of Florida's Supreme Court beginning in 1868.

Summary:     This collection consists of paperwork, letters and other records related to the legal career of Homer G. Plantz. The collection also contains a letter from Homer G. Plantz to his daughter, Sybil E. Plantz, regarding his work and schedule, as well as discussing when he would return home.
