Biographical/Historical:     John N. McKeown (1828-1900) moved with his wife, Emma Caroline Pratt McKeown (1836-1916), from South Carolina to Concord in Gadsden County, Florida. They had two sons, John N. McKeown (b. 1867) and Paul Pratt McKeown (1873-1943). In 1889, John N. McKeown was appointed postmaster of Concord.

Summary:     This collection consists of promissory notes, payment receipts, a Jeffersonian Publishing Company stock certificate, a personal letter from a family friend, and an academic report from Furman University in South Carolina. The collection also includes the commission of John N. McKeown as postmaster of Concord, and a power of attorney for John N. and Paul Pratt McKeown. The records in this collection date from 1857, 1878, 1881, 1889, 1896 to 1900, and 1913.
