	Biographical/Historical:	The Division of Historical Resources is part of the Florida Department of State's Office of Cultural, Historical and Information Programs (OCHIP) in the Office of the Secretary of State. The Division was created in 1986 (Chapter 86-183, Laws), assuming some of the functions of the Division of Archives, History and Records Management. The Division is mandated to preserve historical, cultural and archaeological resources for the state of Florida. The Division includes the Bureau of Historic Preservation, the Bureau of Archaeological Research and the Director's Office. The Bureau of Archaeological Research (BAR) is responsible for the state's archaeology program, carrying out archaeological surveys and excavations throughout the state. They maintain records on historical resources and assist consultants and planners in protecting sites. The bureau's Underwater Archaeology Program includes not only historic shipwreck sites but also pre-Columbian sites in underwater contexts. Henry Jackson "Jack" Yaeger, Jr., was born on March 21, 1923, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a stunt double for Johnny Weismuller in the Tarzan movies filmed at the Wakulla River. Yaeger served as an Army Air Forces fighter pilot in World War II, ran the city's oldest insurance agency, and taught insurance courses at Florida State University. He owned a hunting camp on the east side of the Wacissa River. His property is located at the now recorded Deptford black dirt midden mound, named Yaeger Mount JE172. He died on August 7, 1998.
	Summary:	This hand-drawn map documents archaeological sites along the Wacissa River in Jefferson County, Florida. Henry Jackson "Jack" Yaeger, Jr. drew the map on a United States Geological Survey map using various maps and sources to identify mound locations. Sites identified on the map include, but are not limited to, Bear Grass Mounds, Morris Mounds, Cochran Mounds, Jug Island Mounds, and Albritton Mounds. It is unknown if all of the locations on the map have been verified by the Bureau of Archaeological Research or Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
