The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     Established in 1933, the Florida Association of Colleges and Universities (FAC&U) represents the common interests of Florida's state universities, public community colleges, and private, independent colleges and universities. The organization strives to ensure high quality higher education, innovative research, institutional accountability, and efficient use of the state's educational resources. FAC&U advocates for member institutions at the state and federal level on issues such as student access, increased funding and institutional support, student aid, academic freedom, expanded opportunities for underrepresented minority students, and other higher education issues.

    The FAC&U Board of Directors is a 14-member board elected by member institutions. The officers of the Board include a President, Vice-President, Vice-President Elect, and Immediate Past President. Members of each sector hold each office on a rotating basis. The remaining Board members include three members representing all sectors: three from state universities, three from colleges, and three independent colleges and universities. In addition, the Board includes one at-large member.

Summary:     This collection documents the administrative, governance, historical, organizational, and other major activities of the Florida Association of Colleges and Universities. The records include constitutions and their revisions; by-laws; membership records; financial records; legislative bills; correspondence; memoranda; meeting minutes and agenda; photographs; conference packets; conference presentations, reports and addresses; research materials; subject files; and publications such as programs, newsletters, and proceedings.
