The 1987 Inaugural Committee planned and coordinated activities for the January 1987 inauguration of Florida Governor Bob Martinez, including the inauguration ceremony, parade, prayer breakfast, ball, and open house. Robert "Bob" Fierro, the Executive Director of the Committee, served as Director of the Sanitation Department for Tampa during the time Martinez served as mayor of Tampa. Fierro later worked on Martinez' successful gubernatorial election campaign before moving to Tallahassee to direct plans for the inauguration.
