DJJ is headed by a Secretary appointed by the governor and who shares leadership duties with the Deputy Secretary.

The Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida, opened as the Florida State Reform School in 1900 under the Board of Commissioners of State Institutions. It was a high-risk residential commitment facility for male youth 13 to 21 years of age who were committed by the Court. In 1914 the name changed to the Florida Industrial School for Boys, then the Florida School for Boys in 1957. From 1967 until its closure in 2011, the school was called the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in honor of its first superintendent.

Summary:     This series contains payroll records that document employee salary history and provide information about positions, pay advances and pay scales. For most of the years, the accounting is segregated by race and salaries reflect this separation.
