The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Executive Office of the Governor was created in 1979 (Ch. 79-190, Laws).  The Office is comprised of staff members handling the administrative functions required by the Governor.  The Office also houses various committees, commissions, and councils created by the Governor.
Summary:     This series contains files of the Executive Office of the Governor, under the administration of both Governor Lawton Chiles and Governor Jeb Bush, which document the State of Florida's lawsuit against several tobacco companies relating to their advertising and sale of cigarettes in the state.  This series also consists of documents relating to the tobacco settlement with state and federal governments, the disbursement of tobacco settlement funds with tobacco farmers and the Tobacco Growers Settlement Trust; and the settlement agreements.
