The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2006, the House Committee on Urban and Local Affairs became a standing committee with permanent staff in accordance with Chp. 68-35 Laws.  The committee deals with issues effecting counties and cities;  including local taxes, firefighter pensions, police pensions, boundaries, water districts, and relief bills.  The committee assumed some of the functions of the House Committee on Local Government and Veterans Affairs.
Summary:     This series contains audiotaped recordings of the House Committee on Urban and Local Affairs (2006 - ).  The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to local taxes, police pensions, firefighter pensions, boundaries, Water Districts, and relief bills.  The tapes and CD's are not transcribed.
