The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:   The Governor's Inter-Agency Council on Traffic Safety was created by Governor Farris Bryant in 1962.  The Council consisted of key personnel, from several state agencies, working together to reduce the death and damage toll on Florida's highways.  By 1965, the Council was sitting as the Board of Public Safety, under Cabinet control.  The Board was dissolved in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Governor's Inter-Agency Council on Traffic Safety, 1962-1964.  The records include correspondence, minutes, newspaper clippings, press releases, and speeches.
