The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2002, the Senate Committee on Home Defense, Public Security, and Ports became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  An earlier committee that handled part of its functions was the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning, Local & Military Affairs (1998-2002).  In 2004, the Senate Committee on Domestic Security (2004-2006) was formed.  In 2006, that committee was renamed the Senate Committee on Military Affairs and Domestic Security (2006 - ). 


Summary:     This series contains recordings of the Senate Committee on Home Defense, Public Security, and Ports (2002-2004).  The recordings document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on legislation pertaining to the committee's mission.  The recordings are not transcribed or indexed.
