Summary:     This series documents the establishment and planning of the first Florida State Fiddle Contest and contests in subsequent years. Included are minutes of a 1985 meeting of the Florida Folklife Council at which was considered a proposal to hold a statewide fiddle contest in conjunction with the Florida State Fiddlers Association (FSFA) as part of the annual Florida Folk Festival; correspondence between the Bureau of Florida Folklife Programs and the FSFA regarding contest scheduling and logistics; FSFA newletters including contest information; camping reservation forms from contest participants; and publicity and background information about Florida fiddlers such as Vassar Clements, Chubby Wise, Willie Jones, and Troy Lovelace.
