The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2003, the Senate Committee on Communication and Public Utilities became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Senate Committee on Communication and Public Utilities (2003-2007) and the Senate Committee on Communications, Energy, and Public Utilities ( 2008-2010).  The records include bill files, meeting files, correspondence, agendas, and subject files.  The records document legislation on public utilities, public records exemptions, cable TV, telecommunication systems, elevators,  the "911" emergency service, renewable energy, water supplies, gross receipts taxes, and high technology industries.
