Summary:     This series consists of records related to the production by the Bureau of Florida Folklife Programs of educational slide/tape programs on the Seminole and Mikasuki (Miccosukee) Indians.  The programs were designed for use by schools, libraries, and service organizations.  Information for the projects was gathered on visits to the four Seminole Indians reservations in Florida: Hollywood, Big Cypress, Brighton, and Immokalee; and to the Mikasuki reservation along the Tamiami Trail.

    The materials contained in the collection include cassette tapes of interviews with Seminoles; interview transcripts; photographs and slides; tape and slide indexes and/or logs; background research; informant information sheets; teachers' guides to the slide/tape programs; press releases; and brochure artwork.  Subject matter includes Seminole history; Seminole and Mikasuki language; folk medicine; education; family/clan relationships; folk songs; personal stories; patchwork and traditional Seminole designs; folk tales; foodways; and basketry.
